Each issue we introduce you to a place
that we have visited and would like to
share with you.
On this occasion we
visit The Lodge Brasserie
and Lounge
Bar at The Celtic Manor Resort.
THE LODGE
The Lodge Brasserie and Lounge
Bar are part of one of the largest
and finest clubhouses in Europe.
Built at a cost of £10million and
opened in 1995, The Lodge was
designed to cater for the
requirements of major golf
tournaments.
What immediately strikes you as
you walk into The Lodge are the
spacious surroundings and the
panoramic views overlooking the
18th green of the Roman Road golf
course and beyond, to the Bristol
Channel. Even if you’re not a golfer,
you can’t fail to appreciate the setting
and the beautiful scenery.
If you’re feeling peckish, light meals
and snacks are served from the all-day
menu in the high vaulted, fire-lit
lounge, with pine beams and natural
stonework in the elegant style of a
North American lodge. From 6pm
dinner is served in the dining terrace
overlooking the 18th green where
you can sample the Flavours of Wales
menu. The Lodge is also open for
Sunday lunch.
In addition, The Lodge offers three
conference and banqueting rooms,
two bars, function rooms for private
dining, Dylans Health and Fitness
Club with indoor Romanesque pool,
gym, sauna and spa pool, luxury
locker rooms, and The Clarins Health
Spa which opened in January 2006.
