BARRY
Poster designs are real eye-catchers!


Tiegan Avaient with her winning poster and goody bag, and Cliona Suggett whose poster was published in the optician Magazine.
Both are pupils at St. Athan Primary School. Mark was so impressed with Tiegan’s poster that he awarded her a Vale Life cheque for £10.


Barry opticians, Arbuthnot, set a challenge to local school children aged from nine to eleven to come up with a poster to celebrate Eye Care Week.

The entries came flooding in and the winner was chosen. Tiegan Avaient received a goody bag consisting of a science museum optical illusion box set, ruler, cap, sticky bugs, stickers and a Timberland rucksack and a cheque for £100 for her school St Athan Primary. Runners up Thomas Bowen of Ysgol San Curig and Tasmin Gaiger of Barry Island Primary school also received goodie bags. The runner up schools (Barry Island and Sant Curig) each received £50.

Vale Life's Mark Roberts said. "I was impressed with the high standards the children set for the posters and the attention to detail that put the points of Eye Care Week across creatively."
