About Me
Married to Rob and a Mum to two little girls under the age of 3. I wanted to work in a flexible manner from home to allow me the chance to enjoy as much time with my family as I could allow whilst building a successful business for myself.

Having made jewellery as a hobby for years I had the idea of starting a business where I could utilise the skills I had learnt whilst at the same time providing a second income for my family. I studied with jewellery designer Paula Paton and at the London Jewellery School and not long after The Flutterby Studio was born.

Business activities, products and services
Bespoke handcrafted fingerprint and artwork jewellery in pure silver.

Fingerprint jewellery gives people an opportunity to capture the fingerprint of a loved one in a timeless piece of jewellery whereas artwork jewellery is a slightly different process where I miniaturise an image and recreate it a pure silver item from our range. To date I have captured hand & footprints, messages, pictures and even a paw print!!!

How did I get this far?
With a great deal of hard work, dedication and caffiene.

What drives me?
A desire to do well in life, to provide for my family and to set a good example to my girls.

For just one day I'd like to walk in the shoes of...
Oprah Winfrey

My last supper would be
Anything Mexican, washed down with a Margarita and surrounded by my friends and family.

Album that changed my life
I don't know that it changed my life but Nevermind by Nirvana is a classic.

Books that influenced me the most
The Colour Purple by Alice Walker
The Autobiographies of Maya Angelou

Early bird or night owl?
Night Owl

Most significant travel moment
Flying over the edge of the Grand Canyon in a helicopter whilst on honeymoon last year. Almost as impressive was taking a boat ride in the river at the bottom of the Canyon and looking back up at where we'd come from. I'd heard many times just how awesome an experience it was but nothing had quite prepared me for the actuality of it.

Places I love
The South Wales Coastline (I'm often to be found walking with the family and dogs somewhere along it), Edinburgh and America in general (California in particular).

My mentors
My husband Rob who has a sound head for business and given me much advice and my family and friends for being a constant source of support and encouragement.

When I'm not working I love.
Days out with my family, nights out with the girls, reading, making jewellery and I've recently taken up sewing.

Five things to do before I pop my clogs
To travel every state in America
To learn Spanish
To see my girls grow up
To learn the piano, guitar or drums.
To keep having fun.

Life-changing moment
Having my daughters - two very different experiences that each taught me just how strong I am capable of being.

The cynic in me says
That if you plan for & expect the worst you'll rarely be disappointed in life.

My bugbears are
Apathy, indecision & people who drive slowly in the middle lane of the motorway.

Creed I live by
That if you want something in life go out there and get it.

I'm best described as
A glass is half full kind of girl.

Little known facts about me
I have a phobia of invertebrates, I can eat a whole packet of rich tea biscuits in a sitting and that I love Guns N' Roses.

3 strengths
I am patient, hard working & caring.
