Changes are afoot at Park Crescent in Barry. This small shopping area is slowly becoming something of a thoroughfare of independent shops and new businesses. A good range of products and services are provided by friendly local owners and their staff in businesses old and new and rumour has it that it is the place to watch.

B
ARRY

We won't lie to you, it is a lesser known part of Barry's shopping areas, yet its full potential is obvious due to its close proximity to the busier High Street already known for its status as a mecca for independent shops.

Add to that its location in the older part of Barry's residential area and you really have a street that will develop into something truly special.

Blink and you could miss it as it links all the main routes from the Vale and Cardiff into Barry that connects to the Romilly Park and Knapp area of the town. It's worth checking your route or switching on the Sat Nav as it's easy to get caught up in the flow of cars and pass through Park Crescent too quickly. So unless heading there on foot we suggest you advance with care so that you take advantage of the off-street parking nearby and on the main road.

For now, Park Crescent serves the local community with essential supplies needed for your top-up shop and with an injection of some new and creative individuals we are set to see changes in the future. Keep watching this space!

Coffee & Cream

Beautifully hand-painted greetings cards, inexpensive gifts, jewellery and homeware await you at the recently opened Coffee and Cream.

Owner Lindsay Windle has received a warm welcome to Barry for her focused attention on simple yet interesting gift ideas. The experience is even more inviting thanks to the tiny café area where Ferrari coffee and home-made cakes are served. We love the handmade cards - perfect for Mother's Day, Easter and weddings and the quirky Pull Over soft toys that are made from recycled knitwear and fabrics and can be commissioned specially using your child's hard-to-part-with first clothes.
