PORTHCAWL
St John’s School - an outstanding education
St John's School - an outstanding education Celebrations got underway at the end of February when St. John's School, Porthcawl, marked 90 years of outstanding education with the release of balloons in the presence of Mayor Mrs Mary Emment-Lewis, pupils past and present and parents.
It's hard to believe that in 1921 the school opened with just two teachers who had a vision, and fourteen pupils, all of them boys, who wanted to be educated. Nowadays, this coeducational independent school has grown in more ways than one, and is an excellent example of an environment that thrives on learning.
Why choose to send your child to St John's School?
■ Fewer pupils per class means more attention to each individual.
■ A commitment to moral values and nurturing the talent of each pupil.
■ Specialist teaching from an early age.
■ Higher levels of extra-curricular activities help to broaden a child's education.
■ Independent schools still dominate the academic league tables.
■ Pupils are more likely to move to higher education.
■ Provides a well-disciplined community and a positive school spirit.
■ Schooling is based on a solid ethos and family values.
■ Provides a harmonious environment in which to learn and develop.
