The Business Centre is a real hotbed of business activity with a whole host of resident companies, partnerships and sole traders beavering away. But this thriving commercial hub is also a preferred destination for organisations looking for meeting and conference facilities. Here at Vale Life we think it's time we put in a...

CONFERENCE CALL

We talk with newly appointed Centre Manager, James Mason.

Congratulations on your recent appointment James.
Thanks, I'm settling in nicely - it's very busy and certainly never dull here. Every week is different. I'm enjoying the new challenge.

What do you think makes The Business Centre so popular as a conference facility?
Quite simply, customers like what we're offering. We deliver the widest range of conference and training room facilities at a competitive price. I think because we're in business too, we understand what other businesses need. We listen to customers so we're always improving or certainly trying to.

Do you have to be a resident to use the facilities?

No, not at all. The facilities are available to both residents and non-residents of The Business Centre.

What sort of size conference can you accommodate?

The Business Centre team guarantees your meeting will be a success whether it's a conference or a training session - we strive to be flexible. This last week has been a good example. We've had a series of one to one meetings where people have literally just hired a single room and we also had a seminar for almost sixty delegates. I think it's that real flexibility that clients like.

With so many delegates, can you cope with the parking?
We've ample free parking so we make sure that clients' can park comfortably and, more importantly, that it's not going to cost them anything. Imagine if you were parking in Cardiff for the day. You could be looking at a delegate parking bill alone of over six hundred pounds if you were picking up the tab as an organiser.

What about hire fees? Are you competitive?

The Business Centre can offer rooms ranging between one delegate and sixty two delegates and are available by the hour, half day or full day with delegate packages also available. We make sure that all delegates using the conference and training facilities are looked after with efficiency and care.

Do you have catering facilities?
We can offer a range of catering options from specialised buffets to a meal deal at The Coffee Zone as well as breakfast and beverage options ranging from cereals to full English breakfasts. We have a great team.

What about IT facilities?
We have an IT suite that can cope with most requirements. We have several companies who use us for their training courses. With fifteen laptops available and two state-of-the-art overhead projectors and screens, our IT training suite is up to the minute in terms of technology.

With the latest Microsoft Office software and full hi-speed broadband internet access, we're confident we can deliver. It's an impressive combination of sumptuous furnishings and state-ofthe- art technology. We have great feedback from the training companies that use us.

Delegates and visitors can also use our dedicated breakout areas along with the new on-site cafe, The Coffee Zone. We also have a number of calm areas and an outside picnic area with seating - very popular on sunny days.

So the future is bright at The Business Centre?
I'd like to think so. Things are tough for business at the moment but I believe we're helping our clients by offering flexible, helpful solutions that make doing business just that little bit easier.
