Vale Life talks to Amanda Morgan and Lisa Beynon, co-owners of Beauty Spot based at The Business Centre in Barry about life in their popular salon.

How's business?
LISA Things are going really well. Bookings are healthy. We're obviously giving our clients what they want as they keep coming back and recommending us to their friends.

AMANDA Summer's always a busy time for us with clients booking beauty treatments in readiness for special events such as Ascot, the Polo, weddings and summer parties.

What are the benefits of being based within The Business Centre?
LISA As we're not on the high street, our clients benefit from competitive pricing. There's also plenty of free parking. As our businesses are based in the same building, our clients can have their hair done and enjoy beauty treatments in one trip.

How many staff are on the team at Beauty Spot?
AMANDA There are two full time beauty therapists, myself and Lisa Jenkins.

There are four senior stylists - myself, Tracy, Sam and Lucy and Kelly, our junior.

You've taken on a new stylist, Tracy, please tell us more.
LISA Tracy has fitted straight in. I've known her for years. She's spent many years working for Gee & Hayes in Cardiff and it's lovely to be working with her again. Clients love her as I knew they would.

What treatments are available at The Beauty Spot?
AMANDA We have a full range of treatments and holistic therapies. We specialise in permanent makeup and will soon be offering 'Minx', the new craze in nails.

What are the most popular treatments through the summer?
AMANDA First and foremost, it would have to be pedicures with nail diamante designs, then the St Tropez airbrush tanning and waxing. We also do a lot of special occasion makeup for weddings and graduations, balls and parties.

What do you feel is special about what you offer?
LISA We're keen to make our clients feel like family and have close relationships with most of them which extends beyond the workplace as they've been clients for over 16 years.

AMANDA Clients enjoy the interaction between us and often call in for a coffee and a chat and to soak up the friendly atmosphere.
