MISKIN

Ascot Day at Miskin Manor

There is no greater gathering than one enjoyed in the heat of
a quintessential British summer day. It provides the ideal opportunity to dress up and the ladies certainly didn't
disappoint at the annual Ascot event at Miskin Manor.

It was a refreshing change to meet a resourceful and ecletic
group of women, dressed in anything from designer to High
Street, on-line to hand sewn vintage, pieces picked up on travels far and wide and everything in between.

Style-savvy ad budget conscious women know that there's
always multitude ways of reworking what's already in their wardrobe. Here's Vale Life's pick of the day.

COWBRIDGE

Elizabeth Haines at
The Cowbridge Gallery

Art lovers enjoyed an exhibition by artist Elizabeth Haines at The Cowbridge Gallery recently.

Guests enjoyed wine and canapés whilst perusing the many artists on display including new works by local artist Elizabeth who was on hand to talk to guests.

Unfortunately, since this event took place the gallery has been forced to close. In our opinion this is an absolute tragedy for Cowbridge.

FONMON

St Davids Polo

If you missed this year's Polo at Fonmon Castle in Rhoose, then you really did miss out on one of the social events of the year.

It was a beautifully hot day, with not a cloud in the sky, and the ladies took the opportunity to dress up in their finest. The match between Italy and Wales was extremely entertaining with exciting end to end play culminating in a closely fought four - three win to Italy.

For those of you who did miss the event, all is not lost as St Davids Polo is hosting another two events later in the summer. Full details on page 15 or visit www.stdavidspolo.co.uk
