HENSOL PARK
Vale artist creates a healthy bunch

Artist, Jason Davies, based at The Model House Craft and Design Centre, Llantrisant, has been commissioned by Vale Healthcare to make over eighty new canvases for for the new Vale Hospital, now open at Hensol Castle Park.

Chief Executive, Lis Neil asked the Welsh artist to develop his large flower canvas prints using, 'Flowers of Healing' as the theme. Lis says, "The prints give a vibrant finishing touch to the new hospital building and really helps bring the space to life.

They complement the modern surroundings and it is great to know they are the work of a local artist." Jason says, "It's a great boost for my profile as a Welsh artist.Vale Healthcare have been great clients and given me the artistic licence to develop the floral images into a fantastic collection of dynamic canvas prints. When working on a project like this, it is important to make sure the work flows seamlessly through the building, linking spaces like the reception, waiting, consulting rooms and ward corridors together. Hopefully, the art will bring organic shape and a sense of 'healing' colour into the Vale Hospital, for both patients and staff to enjoy."
