Dunlop 'Iconic Images' Photobook

Well known local artist and photographer Vernetta O'Connor was really pleased to hear that her submission for the Dunlop 'Iconic Images' Photobook was to be one of the images selected for inclusion.

She says, "When I saw the article in the newspaper asking for images, I realised that I had one which fitted the criteria exactly - it's one I called ' Elvis Bear rides his Harley'. I took it at the Elvis Festival, Porthcawl in 2006.'

Vernetta, who is a member of the Barry Camera Club and the Welsh Photographic Federation, said "You can't get much more involved in riding the open road than those world famous Harley riders!"

Over the last year, the Dunlop organisation has been asking for photographers to submit images appropriate to a theme of 'The Open Road'.

John Bentley of Dunlop Tyres tells us that "over 500 submissions covered every element of motoring and motorsport. We have chosen 100 that really encapsulate the thrill of driving. The result looks fantastic. The photobook is for anyone who is passionate about driving".

Money raised from the sale of this interesting book will be used by the Motorsport Safety Fund, a registered charity set up in 1974, to help improve safety in motorsport.
