Cole & Co of Lochaber Street , Roath, Cardiff are pleased to present their Spring Exhibition featuring the work of Molly Curley, Richard Davies, Will Jones, Dawn Harries and James Curley.
The exhibition will run from Wednesday 19th. March to Wednesday
30th April.
On display in the Gallery are paintings, ceramics and jewellery.
The work on view is most dynamic and interesting and the exhibition is well worth a visit.
Richard Davies's pieces are bold in colour and strong in line and catch the eye on entering the Gallery. Richard is most happy about this, and says "I like my work to be gutsy!"
Molly also uses colour to good effect and her work seems to offer a perception of the underlying structure of things.
In contrast to these two artists, Will Jones offers a muted approach, which is a subtle interpretation of nature and also has a mystical form, as though the light through branches is about to reveal something magical.
Dawn Harries offers us the contrast of soft and gentle landscapes.
The silver jewellery shown by James Curley is the 'crème de la crème' of the exhibition. The pieces on display are expertly made and exciting in their design. James has come to his craft via a career in engineering, and says that he finds it a challenge to use his engineering abilities to turn his imaginative ideas into reality. James is fond of using Hematite as a feature and says that some believe it has healing qualities.
The usual fine art, prints, ceramics and glass and silver jewellery are available for visitors to view in the shop area. Jo Vella, Cole & Co Roath's manageress says that the mission of the company is to provide a friendly venue with affordable, interesting and creative items to stimulate the imagination.
