Do you fancy a really good meal in aid of a really good cause?
Murad Anwar, the owner of the Rahil Restaurant in Holton Road , Barry has organized a pair of fund raising events on Sunday 6th April.
First there will be a curry lunch from 1.30pm to 3.00pm, and later that day there will be an evening meal starting at 7.00pm.
For the evening session, music will be provided by local singer/songwriter Dave Cartwright whose CD 'Brittle' has just been released.
Murad will be donating 60% of the restaurant's proceeds to support Ty Hafan, the children's hospice and well known local charity.
Murad came to this country from Bangladesh about eight years ago, and started out working as a waiter in London 's Wood Green. He came to Barry in 2003 to be near his brother who already lived here. At first he worked as a waiter in Cardiff .
He had always wanted to run his own restaurant however, and when the opportunity came up he took the plunge and bought the Rahil.
After some years of hard work, he has been able to renovate the premises and bring it up to the standard that he thought it should have.
Murad says that he enjoys giving his customers value for money, and to chat and socialise with them.
He says "When we lived in Bangladesh , my brother and I liked to do things for charity and to help others who needed it. We still feel the same about this and want to help the community here."
Murad has chosen to help Ty Hafan on this occasion because he himself is the father of two young children and thinks that this charity is very real and worthwhile.
There are just a few tickets still available. The cost of a ticket per event is £15, which will cover a three course meal with a glass of wine. The delicious meal will be prepared by Abdul Mannan, the restaurant's expert Bangladesh chef.
Tickets are on sale at the restaurant.
