Jo Blakeney-Edwards and Simon remember their wedding evening at the hotel.
“We held the evening reception of our wedding at the West House Country Hotel as we could book the whole venue for our special event. It had a lovely feel to it, with lots of different rooms/spaces to accommodate the different needs of our guests, and Richard was very helpful and flexible with our requirements.
We had 130 guests and it was really important to us that the food was excellent, which it was. We had a meeting with Andrew, the chef, requesting something a little different from the norm for our evening buffet. He came up with a very modern, inventive menu based around tapas and mediterranean type dishes and we were really happy to have had so many compliments on the food from our guests.
The service was also excellent. This was the second marriage for both of us, so we had some quite individual requirements from the menu, to the music. They were extremely accommodating and open to our suggestions, plus they helped us with all the extra touches.
We provided the band, and used the hotel’s disco. The event went without a hitch and I would definitely recommend the hotel to friends. It was certainly the most memorable evening of our lives.”

CITY, NEAR COWBRIDGE
Found the right man to marry. Check. Found the perfect venue to hold your reception. Check. Now, how do you choose the right marquee company to make your preparations complete?
We asked Zoe Nelson, an event coordinator based in London why she and her fiancé James chose County Marquees to make her wedding day complete.
What was your brief?
We wanted a romantic, country garden marquee with an element of glamour and sparkle in the evening. The private grounds at Llansannor House are truly beautiful and we wanted the marquee to complement the scenery and the lakeside setting.
The marquee had to cater for 200 guests with ample room for plenty of entertainment such as a casino and a large enough stage and dancefloor area for a twelve piece live band in the evening! We felt it was essential for the marquee to include everything in one area incase of a typical british wet summers day so County Marquees designed a perfect layout where even if the weather turned for the worst, our guests would stay dry!
We can wholeheartedly recommend County Marquees to all our friends and family and we will definitely use them again for more celebrations in the future. From our first meeting, we felt confident that they were going to give us a day to remember and this helped us to relax and enjoy the preparations even more.
