Mother and daughter team Julie and Jessica Phillips have created a tantalising and vibrant shopping haven, full of all things gorgeous and desirable that will truly make life more beautiful.
Vida represents a lifestyle, an attitude - a desire for those irresistible things that just make life a little more beautiful. At a new boutique opening in February on Station Hill, Porthcawl, formerly the home of Art Café, the shelves are abundant with such tempting items.
Julie and Jessica freely admit that they are totally in love with their new store, and are certain you’ll adore the delightful goodies to be found within.
In stock are several ranges of lovingly selected cards, handmade wrapping paper, exquisite candles from the prestigious St. Eval Candle Company, soaps and bath melts from Kew aromatherapy, all natural baby products from Boo Boo Baby - the list goes on and on. Aside from great gift ideas, the stylish selection of home and garden accessories from carefully chosen suppliers, unique to Vida in the area, has something for all tastes and budgets.
So, as fewer of us contemplate moving house in the foreseeable future, the team behind Vida suggest that perhaps it’s time to take a fresh look at your home, and fall in love with it all over again! Vida favourites are their Moroccan embellished bowls from Skoura, in deep shades of ochre and jade, and the etched glass ware from Danish designers House Doctor, in plum tones and deep mossy green.
Embracing all that is both natural and beautiful and to add the finishing touches to your home, is Vida Flora, the in-house floral design aspect of Vida. Drawing on her experience working in a high-style florist in Orange County, California, Jessica is able to combine her love of flowers with a creative and modern approach to design and colour. Weary of seeing cellophane-swamped mixed bunches and generic supermarket offerings, she uses only premium flowers to create organic, sumptuous arrangements that you’ll find hard to resist. Simply perfect little plants and seasonal hand tied bouquets tied with vintage ribbon are always available for those last minute gifts. In the purpose built consultation room within the boutique, Jessica enjoys working with you to help create your perfect look, whether it be for an event, an intimate wedding celebration or a dinner party at home with friends.
Incorporating Martin Phillips’ award winning photography studio, located upstairs, the team can also combine their talents and offer a unique wedding service, where couples can take care of their wedding flowers and photography all at once. In addition to saving valuable time and reducing stress, having these two major aspects of your day working closely together helps you to achieve a very personal and holistic style, tailor made to suit your tastes.
