Mason's open The Business Centre
One year ago Mason's, the Moving
Group, decided to diversify by
investing £1.3m in the Vale of
Glamorgan to open The Business
Centre, 20,000 sq.ft of high
quality state-of-the-art serviced
office space.
Brothers Gordon, Richard and Brett
Mason, all from Barry, have built the
Vale’s first serviced office complex
in the town. Gordon Mason,
managing director of the family-run
international removals company -
which is going into its 102nd year of
business - said, “Our aim is to offer
local businesses something which is
not only new to the Vale, but I believe
in the whole of South Wales, which is
serviced office space that is
affordable as well as flexible. Barry is
ideal for companies starting up or
relocating to South Wales. We can
offer free parking, conference
facilities to rival any to be found in
Cardiff, less congestion, lower office
costs and a great location, close to
motorway connections and our own
international airport.”
Richard Mason went on to say that,
“the growth of Cardiff has created a
unique window of opportunity for
the surrounding communities.
Cardiff is becoming an increasingly
expensive place for businesses and
their staff to be based. The Vale is best
placed in Wales to benefit from
Cardiff’s position as a regional
economic generator. Barry offers
better access to Cardiff International
Airport than any city location.”
The Brothers have brought in
Lynnette Knight to manage The
Business Centre. Lynnette has more
than 15 years experience in the
serviced office industry and was
previously The Managing Director of a
Cardiff based serviced office group.
Lynnette says she is delighted to be
involved in this project and believes
that The Business Centre surpasses
anything to be found in Cardiff or
South Wales. We are different here at
The Business Centre because not only
to we offer all the usual benefits of
serviced offices such as one monthly
fee covering rent, rates, heating,
lighting, power, furniture, telephone
answering in your company name,
but also ample free car parking, fully
equipped gym, café and two large
break out areas where clients can
relax or have informal meetings.
Everybody is so busy and stressed
these days so our mission was to
make coming to work a pleasure and
with that in mind we have rented
space to a beauty salon, hair dresser
and a personal trainer.
Lynnette also informed us that
The Business Centre also offers
virtual office facilities for businesses
not quite ready to take an office
but welcome the prestige of a
professional receptionist.
In addition The Business Centre has
several conference rooms including
a
IT training suite suitable for fifteen
people. The Centre has already
attracted a wide variety of businesses
such as car leasing, training,
publishing, printing, mobile phone
sales, construction and a beauty salon
and hairdresser.
Tenants will be able to make use of
the self-storage and warehousing
facilities operated by the company
on the same site.

Nina opens new office
Weeks of hard work have finally paid
off for Nina as she opens her new
offices at Broad Street in Barry.
Nina and husband Rob took over
what was originally the London and
Provincial Bank built back in 1898.
Many of the original features have
been retained, including wood
panelling which has been brought
back to its original state. Rob found a
money shelf in the basement made
out of Welsh slate. He ‘recycled’it and
now it proudly supports the trade
mark Topstak fire. Nina sourced the
beautiful bold wallpaper from FA
Jones on Penarth Road and the glass
top tables were handmade by Rob.

Printers go green
Rg Printing has become one of the
first printers in the UK to plant trees
instead of just using them for paper.
Andrew Studley, MD, has pledged
support for the Really Rubbish
Campaign and will be planting native
trees at a wood being created by the
campaign. The www.reallyrubbish
campaign.org has so far introduced
recycling lessons and free recycling
facilities into over 118 schools.
