THE ART CAFÉ

If the answer is yes then look no further than The ART Café on New Road in Porthcawl where you’ll find a host of artistic activities to fill the day.

The ART Café is all about enjoyment and relaxation. It is both a café and a place to paint pottery, this may well be something you have never even imagined doing, but is quite addictive once tried!

Customers range from babies (footprints) to grandparents. Stencils, sponges and books full of useful tips and techniques to get you started are available with staff always happy to help. The ART Café can even paint gifts to order, but REALLY the fun is in doing it yourself.

Everything is provided, from paints to aprons, great coffee to help the creative juices flow and they even do the tidying up at the end. Pottery painting is a great activity for children's birthday parties and they can also cater for fun adult evenings too.

My favourite part of town these days is High Street. I love the individual shops and cafes; there is a real buzz and sense of community here. Barry is ideally positioned to explore the rest of the Vale. I sometimes go for a meal in Cowbridge or a walk on Penarth Pier and occasionally have a picnic in Porthkerry Park.

Items range from £3 tiles to larger items such as platters and vases. You can choose from a huge range of animals, characters, money boxes as well as table ware. During the school holidays, The ART Café also has pottery making workshops, themed weeks and painting competitions with prizes for different age groups.
