IT’S SHOWTIME!
Do you have a pen to hand? If so, you’ll most definitely want to put a reminder for The Vale of Glamorgan Show in your diary.
Wednesday 20th August 2008 is the date of the most well attended event in the Vale of Glamorgan’s calendar and once again it is being held in the grounds at Fonmon Castle, near Rhoose.
This year’s event has already attracted a huge amount of interest with many new exhibitors attending the Food Hall, Craft Fair and Shopping Mall marquees and along with over 200 trade stands. The more the merrier we say as this allows an excellent day browsing around shops that visitors wouldn’t normally encounter locally.
The Dog Show, Horticultural Show and Home Produce Show are all still accepting entries so why not have a go and show your prize vegetables and flowers. If you haven’t shown before, don’t worry, there are classes for novices too! If you have a wonderful piece of needlework or a good piece of art work or can make an excellent cake, there is a class for you in the Home Produce Marquee.
The Vale Show are delighted to welcome back the cattle, sheep, goats and pigs to the show this year and with increased prize money, they are expecting an excellent turn out.
The main ring display are Motostunts International, who will be performing dare devil stunts on quads, motorbikes and in 4 x 4 cars in the Main Ring following the Grand Parade of prize winning animals at 3pm.
There’s plenty of fun to be had for children with Punch and Judy and circus workshops, along with a fairground, road train, face painting and loads of other entertainment.
No one should go hungry with plenty of food outlets on the show field along with bars and coffee stalls.
The show opens at 8.30 in the morning and things wind down from around 6 pm. Prices this year are £8 adult, £6 oap and £4 per child – family tickets of 2 adults and 2 children are £20
All in all the Vale Show is the biggest and best day out that the Vale has to offer with something to entertain all the family – the one not to miss in any weather!
Look out for the Vale Life marquee next to the main ring. Advertisers are welcome to join us for a glass of bubbly and some nibbles.
