With over thirty years experience, Colin H. Bowen, trading as A&C Designs designs installs luxury fitted furniture for kitchens, bedrooms and bathrooms. A&C Designs offers a complete service including carpentry, plumbing, electrical, wall tiling, floor tiling and decoration.
It’s no wonder the talents of A&C Designs are much sought after as Colin trained as a carpenter, designer and surveyor for kitchens and bathrooms. Colin likes to work primarily on his own but also works with others for larger contracts.
All work generally comes from recommendation and word of mouth and clients include professionals in the 30+ age group and upwards. Ask Colin what the current trend is in timber and he’ll say that solid timber comes and goes but high gloss seems to be in vogue at the moment. What attracts customers to A&C has to be Colin’s inventive designs, good planning and his eye for space. With a motto of ‘Always do your best’, it’s easy to see why A&C Designs is never short of work. If Colin did have any plans for the future, it would be only to wake up and to enjoy going to work.

Pebble stocks lifestyle clothing for men and women with two shops - in Cowbridge and Mumbles.
Who are your customers?
Our customers love ‘attention to detail’ in their clothing. Our male and female customers range in age from anything from 18 to 65+ years old.
What brands do you stock?
Our labels are as follows:- Odd Molly, White Stuff, French Connection, Ichi, Fornarina, Full Circle and Gas. We stock Truth charm bracelets and rings, hand - made glass jewellery by Tanya Harris and handmade leather bags by Coterie.
What do you think is special about your business?
Pebble feels like the customer’s own walk in wardrobe, with something to suit any occasion. Some of Fornarinas’ designs are pretty outrageous and, in contrast, Ottitude is a sophisticated eveningwear brand while White Stuff is a safe weekend wear brand. We search high and low for brands that offer beautiful clothing that our customers will adore. We stock handmade items, in particular glass jewellery by Tanya Harris and vintage bags by UpSticks Boutique. We also stock local designers, In particular, our Bobbi bags and interiors range are made of recycled fabric. We stock SeaSalt an organic cotton range based in Cornwall.
We have a seamstress that we use to tailor items such as jean leg lengths. We also stock Odd Molly which is such a sought after Scandinavian label that we have people ringing up from all over the UK searching for particular items, that we then post to them.
Any new brands on the horizon? We are stocking Firetrap for both men and women from Autumn. The women’s collection looks amazing, using layering and texture and unusual materials.
The clothes are very feminine with dark grey’s and blacks with hints of colour. Long knit cardigans are huge again this season, with tiny mini dresses underneath. Their stretch bandage type dresses look great. They also have the most incredible wet look coats and skinny jeans.
The other label I love at the moment is Coterie. The designer (Tracey Watkins) is based in Haverfordwest. She makes leather handbags from remnant leather which are very unique with either buttons, keys or ripped edge detailing and have sold incredibly well so far.
The Autumn collection for Odd Molly was awesome too - full of beautiful knitwear, velour hoodies and silk “Pebble feels like your camisole tops and dresses!

After a stint with Farhi working initially with Nicole and then the successful Farhi jeans line, Chloe decided to revive Made in Heaven.
