SAFECLEAN, THE ORGANIC WAY!

Meeting Gareth Jones in our Autumn issue, and liking the sound of his carpet cleaning system, we thought we’d give it a go.

We have a high quality blue carpet on our stairs, landing, bathroom and three bedrooms which we bought about ten years ago.

It gets a vacuum every week and we do try to discourage anyone from going upstairs with shoes on to try and keep the dirt down. This worked very well until Jack our eight year old decided he couldn’t be bothered to take off his shoes and then came Lucy, our Jack Russell terrier. Jack’s favourite trick is to chase Lucy up the stairs and around the three bedrooms until both he and she are run ragged – oh the fun of being eight! Needless to say the shoes stay on and the carpet gets covered with Lucy’s little white hairs, which drive me mad.

Gareth arrived promptly and quickly got to work by firstly carrying out a dry extraction with a powerful Sebo hoover, then applying a pre clean with health and environment pack, killing dust mites, bacteria and any viruses.

Next came the deep clean and rinse, leaving no residue in the carpet. The system used by Safeclean cleans up to 50 times more than standard cleaning techniques.

The bedrooms were quite good considering it had ten years’ wear but, as with most bathrooms with carpet, this needed a little more work as did the stairs, which Gareth was happy to do.

A good three hours later and our carpet looked amazing. Not only did it look remarkably cleaner, but the thick pile had re-emerged and the intensity of the blue was much deeper. It was also handy that we could walk on them within no time and that there was no nasty lingering chemical smell.

We had been thinking that we’d have to re-carpet in the near future but, Gareth assures us, they’ll be good for another good few years.
