DENTISTS ON PARADE

Jennifer met the James Hull team for a morning stroll along Penarth Pier and talked to them about the unique qualities they bring to the practice.

One company stands out as the absolute leader in this field and that is James Hull Associates. What you may not know is that this highly successful corporate company with over forty eight sites located throughout the UK had its humble beginnings twenty years ago in south Wales.

As a previous very satisfied customer of James Hull, I wanted to find out more about the talented team who had worked to create a smile that I am now proud of.

Because I have lived with a chronic illness from a young age, which wasn’t diagnosed until my late thirties, I had been given a cocktail of drugs which had badly discoloured my teeth. I had perfected the art of smiling without actually opening my mouth. Over the years, the treatment I had received to try and rectify this had left me with teeth in a variety of shades. To say I was self conscious about it would be an understatement.

My existing teeth made me look and feel older than my years and I had read that getting your teeth whitened could take years off you. I don’t mind admitting to being a little vain so I decided that the time had finally come to put this right. The next step was to find a competent dental practice in whom I could trust and could give me the result I wanted.

I scoured many magazines, trawled the internet and asked friends and colleagues if they could recommend anyone. One name kept coming up and that was James Hull. So I made an appointment with them at their Cardiff Bay practice where my thirty minute consultation was informative and reassuring. I was taken through the process and informed of the cost for my treatment. I was fortunate that at the time I didn’t need to take advantage of their finance facility, but it’s worth mentioning here as you can spread the cost over a period of time if needs be.

My next appointment consisted of filing my teeth down and fitting temporaries which were to stay on for two weeks while the final veneers were being prepared. In that time I had to visit the Parade practice for some adjustments before the final fittings could take place. This was my first meeting with Gareth Jenkins.

With crowns and veneers, fit is everything and what really impressed me about James Hull was that nothing was too much trouble, even to the point of getting Gareth Jenkins involved to ensure that the fit was absolutely perfect.

With this kind of work, getting it right is of paramount importance. If it’s not done properly, you will end up being in a lot of pain. Because I presented with an especially difficult bite (trust me!), Gareth’s particular expertise was needed. An appointment was made for me at The Parade practice and it was at this point that I met Gareth. He again put me at my ease and further work was done to ensure that the fit was absolutely perfect. What I didn’t realise then, was that Gareth and his associates who treated me at The Parade are amongst some of the most talented dentists in the UK, if not the world.

At the final fitting, I was handed a mirror and saw that my teeth had been transformed. I had promised myself that I would keep my emotions in check but immediately burst into tears. I was so happy, my smile said it all!
