CARDIFF BAY
What not to wear
Clients, colleagues and friends of City PA’s Deborah Meredith gathered at the Grosvenor Casino in Cardiff Bay for the long awaited viewing of the popular What Not to Wear Programme in which Deborah appeared.
Mica Paris and Lisa Butcher transformed Deborah from a rather dowdy air hostess (sorry Deborah) into the glamorous, polished and confident businesswomen she aspired to be. Deborah said, “Although a tiring and sometimes emotional journey, it was one well worth taking. I’m sure that the new me will give me the confidence to take my business of secretarial support to where I want it to be, a global success.”

PENARTH
Vernons Vale Life Hot Tip!
I’m going to let you in on a little secret - it’s called Vernons and you can find it on Herbert Terrace opposite The Washington. It has the most fabulous range. Go there for the clothes, go there for helpful advice from Phillipa... just go there!
When did Vernons open?
We opened our boutique in 2004. Vernons is co-owned by my brother Jonathan and I and it was an obvious choice to call it Vernons as our grandfather worked in Paris and New York as a dress designer. He opened his own fashion design studio in Los Angeles called ‘Vernon’s of Hollywood’ so we’re carrying on a family tradition.
Which designers do you stock?
For men we have DuckandCover Cottonfield, Matinique, Jacques Britt and Full Circle. For women its Sandwich, CCDK, Part Two, Jonny Q, Bohemia and Inwear.
Why do people come to you?
Because of the personal service we offer and to benefit from my twenty years experience. We’ve transformed the image of many Penarth women and we’d rather lose a sale then let a customer leave the shop wearing the wrong outfit. We have a reputation for selling exclusive, high quality clothes, and cater to all budgets. With this in mind we’ve just introduced a new range called Bohemia which is affordable and quirky. Visiting our shop is always a friendly, honest and enjoyable experience.
What future plans do you have?
Jonathan has introduced a range of handmade ethnic Cuban jewellery, which was sourced in Havana. His website is now online and is the only site in the world where you can buy these beautiful pieces at www.cubanjewellery.co.uk
